Monument of a cannon(Kitayama cannon) used in the Edo period. It is said that the cannon was hollowed out of a pine tree.
The region's specialty is a citrus fruit called "Niihime". At this Michinoeki, specialty products made from Niihime are sold. (Niihime drink & Niihime candy in the photo)
Maruyama Senmaida is located 15 minutes by car from this Michinoeki. It is selected as one of the 100 best rice terrace fields in Japan.
