Meaning of station Name | "Azai" is named after "Nagamasa Azai", warlord of the Sengoku period. "sanshimai" means "three sisters". "Sato" means "hometown". The Three Sisters of Nagamasa Asai, Chacha, Ohatsu and Ogou were bron in Nagahama city. The three sisters, who lived during the Sengoku period as daughters of warlords, have numerous anecdotes to tell. |
